Greetings! It has been ten years since NYTWA was launched in the basement of a small deli on Mott Street in Chinatown. We started out with a handful of us gathered in a dimly lit room to an organization of 11,000+ members that the City can no longer ignore. On the eve of our 11th year, we are on the verge of campaigns to establish a health fund, collective bargaining and greater economic viability for drivers. Over the past decade, we have built an independent workers organization that we can all be proud of. While the financial independence of the organization has steadily improved with membership dues at its core, we seek of you— our friends and supporters in the community— your solidarity through a pledge of small sum of money. For us, seeking your support means more than a financial stability— it's a symbol of the idea that NYC taxi drivers are deeply connected to all of you in the community.
